Today we had the pleasure of speaking with Shannon Brooks, a woman that once walked a path in commercial real estate, found a passion for residential real estate, and just about everything in between. Listen to how Shannon’s career changed from commercial to residential at minute 1:30 of the podcast. During this unexpected transition, Shannon hit the ground running and contributed to one of the top ten real estate teams for Engel & Volkers in North America. You read that right – North America.

Bouncing from Caribou Coffee to Keller Williams, then later finding a home within Engel & Volkers, the one thing she never lost touch with was her love for volunteering. She became a philanthropist while previously serving on the Board of Trustees with the MAR Foundation. Shannon is currently on the Board of Directors for the Tubman Foundation, a foundation that advocates and advances opportunities for change so that every person can experience safety, hope, and healing.

At minute 5:30 of the podcast, Shannon shares her very own experience with Tubman Foundation. Early in Shannon’s life, her and her mother were two of the thousands of people getting support and aid from Tubman Foundation. This was her “why” and she felt she needed to share her story with others.

Listen to minute 12:10 of the podcast to hear how a full-time real estate agent makes time for prioritizing the volunteering of her time, knowledge, and charity work.
