Email Marketing Is For Everyone

Where were you during the great Facebook and Instagram outage of 2021? Probably checking your email. What were your clients doing because they couldn't scroll their feed? Probably checking email! If you're anything like us, we opened a few more "promotional" emails than we typically would have. Companies were using this as a time to capitalize on people's attention spans that had been suddenly freed from the endless entertainment that social media provides! Facebook and Instagram being offline was a great reminder to not put all of your marketing eggs in one basket.

IN ORDER FOR YOUR EMAIL MARKETING TO BE EFFECTIVE, IT NEEDS TO BE UNIQUE. IT NEEDS TO BE YOU.

The message coming from your email marketing really needs to be you and your voice that it comes across more authentic. You want this to feel like a personalized communication! We can always tell when email marketing is a template, we’ve seen the emails Talk about things that your clients care about. Think about what would bring value to your audience and what is unique to you.

FACEBOOK BUSINESS PAGES, YOU’RE GETTING PUSHED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE ALGORITHM. INSTAGRAM IS AN UPHILL BATTLE EVERY SINGLE DAY. EMAIL MARKETING, YOU ARE IN THEIR INBOX, YOU ARE TALKING DIRECTLY TO THEM.

HOW DO YOU GET STARTED WITH EMAIL MARKETING?

  1. Determine what YOUR personal brand is | Yes, you have a company that has a logo and brand, but it is so important to create the brand behind you, because after all- you are your brand! There are so many incredible resources out there for logo creation, including Etsy, which features so many talented individuals that are very reasonably priced.

  2. Keep your message short and sweet (or for our Gen Z audience, TLDR: Too Long, Didn’t Read) | The key to effective marketing is not overwhelming your audience. If you send an email that is too long, you more than likely are not going to read the entire thing and get the full impact. Just because you have a real estate newsletter, you have a reason to be relevant in more aspects than just buying a home. If you’re talking what’s going on, what’s relevant to people’s families, occupations, recreations, and dreams- everyone can relate to that! For example, share your favorite recipe or favorite Amazon finds!

  3. Choose your platform | There are many platforms out there that you can use for your email marketing. There are even platforms out there that are specific to real estate marketing, however, that is where you may find yourself having a similar looking email as others in the industry. It is so important to stand out! We specifically use Flodesk and we LOVE it! Not only is it user friendly, it is very aesthetically pleasing and aligns with our brand
