TikTok Stories

TikTok stories have been becoming more and more available for users in recent weeks, giving users a new way to share and interact with content on the platform.

With stories features on other social platforms growing in popularity, we all knew it was only a mater of time before TikTok adapted its own version of this popular feature! Similar to these other platforms, TikTok stories also expire after 24 hours, but there are still a few key differences.

Read below to learn everything you need to know about TikTok stories!

What are TikTok Stories?

TikTok Stories allow users to upload video content that expires in 24 hours. As we said above, this is not a new concept, but it is a content sharing method that has been growing in popularity since its initial release on Snapchat in 2013.

The main difference with TikTok stories compared to other social media platforms is that they allow for public engagement. Rather than private reactions and story views, TikTok allows users to publicly comment on stories and to view other peoples’ comments as well!

How to Create a TikTok Story

The process of creating a TikTok Story is very similar to creating a regular TikTok. You can add music, take videos, or upload photos/videos from your camera roll. Then, instead of clicking “next” to add a caption, you just click “post to story”!

Many users have noticed that the “post to story” button is where the “drafts” button used to be, so be careful to not post something intended for your drafts to your story by accident!

If a user posts a story, you will see a blue ring around their profile picture. You can view them by tapping on the user’s profile picture. Stories can also show up on your “For You Page”. They will look like a normal TikTok video, but they will have a blue “Story” button in the bottom left corner (Similar to the orange buttons that show up on videos to show when someone uses an effect or filter)!

Should You Be Using TikTok Stories?

Since TikTok stories are still very new and aren’t available to everyone yet, it is hard to say whether they will be successful or not. However, with the overwhelming success of TikTok and the increasing use of stories on other platforms, our guess is that TikTok Stories will be a hit as well.

Hopping onto TikTok stories as soon as you can wouldn’t be a bad idea because it may allow you to experiment with different types of content! It also gives you one more way in which you can engage with your audience.

Whether or not you choose to jump into TikTok stories right away, it’s good to start thinking about your potential marketing strategy with this new feature!
